Commissioner of customs has issued a public notice dated April 01,2020 regarding clearance of goods to SEZ- facilitation during lockdown period in view of outbreak of COVID-19.
- It has been brought to the notice of this office that due to lockdown imposed by the Government in view of outbreak of COVID-19, the Importer / Customs Brokers are unable to submit, duly assessed, duplicate and quadruplicate copies of Bills of Entry.
- As a measure of trade facilitation, it has been decided that scanned copies of duplicate and quadruplicate copies of Bills of Entry may be sent to the port of import i.e. ICD Tughlakabad (Imports) to Deputy Commissioner of Customs (Import Shed - Admn.) at email ID email@example.com, through the official e-mail ID of the concerned assessing officer of SEZ along with details of Customs Broker intending to clear the goods and contact number of Assessing officer at SEZ.
- Such Bill of Entry would be accepted and OOC would be granted based on the documents so received for clearance of goods from ICD Tughlakabad to SEZS. Importer / Customs Broker would be required to submit hard copies of duplicate and quadruplicate copies of assessed Bills of Entry within a period of 15 days from the date the lock down is lifted.
